Longer instructions

These longer instructions are optional, it is fine if you just read and follow the short version above.

  1. Read or skim the options below.
  2. Decide how many of your PrimePoints you want to bid. A bid of 1 PrimePoints is fine.
  3. Decide on a template with mods, and whether to use other options.
  4. Open a command game: 41458567. Join the game and go to Chat. Do not worry, the game will not start when you join.
  5. Type in: !modtourney template=template_id bid=amount plus your other options (if you picked any)
  6. (Optional) Wait up to 15 minutes for the system to notice the new command.
  7. (Optional) Check the command log to see if the command was accepted. Maybe you get an error message there, in which case you should try again (with the command changed so you don't repeat the exact same error).
  8. (Optional) Check the Tournament list to see that your tournament is listed there. Planned tournaments near the top of the list are more likely to be played soon.
  9. Join the test game that you will be invited to. You will be invited together with an official template tester.
  10. Play the test game. If you are not happy with the template, you can veto it. by typing !veto in the chat of the test game. Please don't use this method for excessive testing of the template.
  11. Your proposal is accepted if none of the players vetoed it, and the game ends with a normal result (VTE gets counted as a veto here).
  12. Wait until your proposal gets picked and the tournament starts. join the first game to participate.

If you are unsure or have trouble, you can also ask in the command game. Thank you for making a bid for a ModTourney!

If you change your mind, you can cancel your proposal with the command !suspendevent event_id (any time before your ModTourney starts).

Options

The template and the bid are required. The other options are optional, and default values will be picked instead.

Guidelines for template testing

The official template testers are: krinid, Just_A_Dutchman_, JK_3, StereoTunic9039, XY. For each test game, a random template tester will be invited to the game. The suggester and the tester can veto the template by typing !veto in the chat of the test game. If you change your mind about the veto, you can type !unveto (last command per player counts). The chat will only be scanned for the veto command approximately 24 hours after the game ends. Also, if the game ends with a VTE, it will be counted as a veto.

Testers are asked to veto a template if:

You can also veto a template if you just think its not fun to play the template. But remember that you don't have join the tournament if you don't like the template. Thinks that are fine and not a reason to veto:

It is fine to veto pure lottery templates or templates that will be drawn/end in VTE most of the time.

You can also chat in the test game and decide together. Or discuss your thoughts in the >>group<<. It is also fine to consider the tournament mode or boot time in your decisions (for example, if games are expected to last long).

Making changes to your template

If you wish to make changes to your template while the test game is still running, or you wish to change the other settings such as boot time or tournament mode, do the following:

  1. Create a new template with the changes (for example, by using the Save New option when changing the template settings).
  2. Type !veto in the test game (works until 24 hours after game finish)
  3. Do a new !modtourney command with the new template and other parameters.
  4. Finish playing the old test game or VTE it.

You can also tell the tester about the changes, he might have opinions.

About the rewards

The prize pool will be bid + 200 + 10 * (number of players) PrimePoints. The winner gets twice as much as the second place. The ratio for the other places is at least 3:2. The difference between places is at least 6 PrimePoints. The result is that the winner gets 40% to 44% of the prize pool.

Which proposal will be picked?

All proposals will be listed in the Tournament list. You can also see past tournaments there. At the beginning of a month, a new tournament will be picked from the proposals. The criteria are as follows:

  1. Was the proposer active in the last 48 hours?
  2. Can the proposer pay the PrimePoints bid?
  3. Is the proposal at least 24 hours old?
  4. Fewer number of ModTourneys by the same proposer in the last 3 ModTouneys.
  5. Higher PrimePoint bid.
  6. Older ModTouney proposal.

This website does not update very often. Newly scheduled games appear usually within 15 minutes. But other changes can take much longer.
